Diskectomy
Diskectomy involves surgically removing the bulging part of the disc. This procedure may be done when a herniated disc is causing relentless or chronic sciatica, weakness, loss of sensation, or loss of bladder and bowel control. Sometimes part of the vertebra must also be removed. This procedure is called a laminectomy.
