Ingrown Beard Hairs (Pseudofolliculitis Barbae)

The hair follicles in the beard region are inflamed. These symptoms are caused by irritation and inflammation aggravated by shaving but not by an actual infection. This finding is typical of pseudofolliculitis barbae, which is usually chronic.
