Sporotrichosis (Abscess)

Sporotrichosis starts as a small papule or subcutaneous nodule that may ulcerate or necrose. The infection spreads lymphatically. If untreated, diffuse erythema, ulcers, and abscesses may develop as is seen in this example of severe bacterial superinfection.
