Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (Butterfly Rash)

This raised, persistent, red rash develops in sun-exposed areas of the face. This butterfly pattern includes the bridge of the nose, the cheek areas, and the sun-exposed areas over the eyebrows. Importantly, the folds of skin on the sides of the nose are not affected.
